Artist Statement
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Kaylin Skye Mirel (b.2001) is a Manhattan based artist. she graduated from Pace University majoring in Film and double minoring in Art History and Psychology. Kaylin is a self-taught artist whose works are abstractly vivacious. She believes that colors are an essential tool to stir emotions, encouraging the viewer to meditate on the work to reveal its meaning. She draws her inspiration from forms of abstract expressionism with a process of abstracting a visionary story from photos.
By Kaylin's experience with interning in art galleries, she launched her curating debut for her first self group art exhibition entitled 'Tightrope' in September of 2022. She plans to continue her journey with painting by exhibiting with group shows while guest and independently curating art exhibitions.
